Learn About

IDPA is the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios using practical handguns and holsters that are suitable for self-defense use. The main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual.

Most IDPA competitors are members of a local IDPA club, and there are more than 300 affiliated IDPA clubs around the country. Every weekend you’ll find a weekly, monthly, regional or championship match taking place at one of these clubs.  Del Norte Defensive Shooters is an IDPA club and we shoot the local club match every third Sunday of each month.  Check out more here.

New shooters can shoot their first match for free!  You are always welcome to come and watch as well.

After you shoot your first match, we request that you become an IDPA member to continue in participating.
